Following the publication of Warmer & Greener: A Guide to the Future of Domestic Energy Efficiency Policy on 27 April 2016 the Westminster Sustainable Business Forum (WSBF) is undertaking a series of follow-up events to investigate individual issues explored in the report.
One of the upcoming events in this series will look at how to develop the energy efficiency industry in the UK by looking abroad and specifically at the Dutch Energiesprong scheme. The basic premise of this scheme is that performance-warranted whole house retrofits are delivered commercially on a wide scale and are initially focused on the social housing sector to achieve an early market on the basis of a long term asset management approach.Being a success in the Netherlands, the Dutch inventors have established a subsidiary of the scheme here to sustainably deliver warm, affordable homes in the UK (more information here). Our event aims to explore what the benefits and opportunities for this scheme in the UK are and also scrutinise the challenges of developing the scheme here.
