LAUNCH: Staying Ahead: are International Students Going Down Under?

13th September 2018
10am - 1pm

Professor Simon Marginson, the Director of the Centre for Global Higher Education and Conservative Peer Lord Norton of Louth, invite you to the launch of the Higher Education Commission's report Staying Ahead: are International Students Going Down Under?

The report examines the UK’s world class higher education system and considers its capacity for export growth in the ever competing and post-Brexit world market place. The 2015 Conservative Government announced ambitious plans to expand the UK’s educational export industry, including a target to increase educational exports to £30 billion by 2020. With less than two years now remaining to meet this target, the Higher Education Commission has investigated the viability of this task.

The report also emphasises the sector’s soft power contribution and examine the additional benefits reaped from higher education exports, such as the role the sector plays in foreign aid and development.

We are delighted to announce that the Rt. Hon. Nicky Morgan will be delivering a keynote speech at the event.
