Postponed - Briefing event: A Strategy for Valuing Resources and Wastes

19th June 2018
11am-1.30pm

A joint event by the All-Party Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group and the Resource Recovery from Waste programme to strengthen dialogue between academia, industry and policy-makers and build consensus on the subjects for the forthcoming Resources and Waste Strategy.

This event is taking place in the context of the academic research programme Resource Recovery from Waste, which is a £7.4M strategic investment by the Natural Environment Research Council, Economic and Social Research Council and Defra. The programme envisions a resource efficient, circular economy that contributes to clean growth, delivers social benefits such as skilled jobs and clean air, and restores a healthy environment. The programme cultivates close collaborations between academia, industry and government with the aim to create consensus and grow a productive and sustainable circular economy.

Resource Recovery from Waste will share their policy recommendations based on 5 years of research, and present a business case for government intervention through the Resources and Waste Strategy with buy-in from the industry members of the All-Party Parliamentary Sustainable Resource Group.

Lunch will be provided.
