As Head of Education and Skills, Liz is responsible for the teams work across the Skills Commission, Higher Education Commission and All-Party Parliamentary Group for Skills, Careers and Employment.
Liz holds a bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the Open University, studying part time over six years whilst working full time. As an adult learner herself, Liz is a passionate advocate of education and the role of quality careers information, advice and guidance at all ages.
Liz joined Policy Connect in April 2021 having previously delivered the CareerTech Challenge Fund at Nesta, an innovation programme which used behavioural science and technological innovation to understand what motivates adults to sustain learning. Liz also spent almost ten years at the Greater London Authority, including delivering two rounds of Further Education Capital and playing a key role in designing, implementing and delivering policy for the devolution of the Adult Education Budget to the Mayor’s Office in 2019.
Outside of work, Liz is trustee for SQL SportsLeaders, an educational charity which focus on youth skills development. Liz is also responsible for a small menagerie of four chickens, three cats and a dog.
