Creating a vision for FE and skills in England: How can we build a skills system that responds to local needs and future challenges?
The Skills Commission has invited the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Skills and Employment to present to the most recent Skills Commission inquiry.
This event will be chaired by Sir John Hayes MP.
The inquiry will seek to understand how the skills infrastructure and recent policy changes, such as the expansion of apprenticeships, the introduction of T Levels and the devolution of the Adult Education Budget, join up at a local level. By exploring variations across regions the project aims to provide guidance on developing a strategic approach to the nation’s skills policy.
This roundtable will outline the project, present initial findings, and collect your thoughts and experience as valuable input.
The inquiry is especially interested in exploring: how is the current FE and skills sector working; what are the features of an effective skills system and; what is needed to achieve a successful skills structure in England.
This inquiry is sponsored by the Further Education Trust for Leadership and is a collaborative project between Policy Connect and the Learning and Work Institute.
