This round table is intended for members of the APPG on Climate Change to discuss priorities for the upcoming Autumn Budget with researchers and campaigners active in debates around a just, green recovery. Discussion will focus on fiscal priorities for a Covid-19 recovery aimed at getting the UK back on track to meet its climate and environmental targets. We will also discuss issues of financing the recovery over the short and medium term, and the implications of Brexit and Covid-19 related uncertainty for any fiscal announcements.
A letter to the Chancellor will be drafted following the meeting and circulated to APPG Parliamentarians for signatures. Taking part in the meeting will not be taken as endorsement of the resulting letter.
