Policy Connect supports parliamentary groups for decarbonisation and sustainable resources, as well as education and skills.

This cross-cutting event, chaired by Baroness Garden, will convene parliamentary, policy, academic, and industry leaders to discuss key issues and opportunities to develop green skills and jobs in the workforce, which will help the UK achieve its environmental targets as the UK transitions towards net zero and a more circular economy.

Key Discussion Points:

  1. Current state of green skills in the UK workforce
  2. Future skill requirements for sustainable industries
  3. Challenges in green skill development and training
  4. Opportunities for collaboration between industry, academia, and government
  5. Policy recommendations to accelerate green skill development

Focus Areas:

  • Sustainable resources management
  • Circular economy implementation
  • Decarbonisation strategies
  • Renewable energy sector growth

The discussion will inform a policy position briefing statement for a parliamentary audience, outlining key priorities for green skills development in the new Parliament.
