Carbon Connect is hosting a scoping roundtable on the wider impact from ongoing turmoil in wholesale energy markets, the consumer price cap rise and the cost of living crisis on net-zero policymaking.

Alan Brown MP, Shadow SNP Spokesperson for Energy and Climate Change and member of the BEIS Select Committee, will chair this discussion to establish how long-term decarbonisation strategies and investment can be used as an opportunity to bring down consumer costs, minimise exposure to price volatility and ensure a just transition.

Further speakers include:

  • Lord Teverson, Liberal Democrats
  • Caroline Bragg, Director of Policy and Research, Association for Decentralised Energy
  • Prof. Michael Grubb, UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources
  • Dr. Katja Yafimava, Oxford Institute for Energy Studies
