Policy Connect is hosting an event at Liberal Democrat Conference in the Brighton Centre exploring how national and local government can create a transport system that works for everyone.
The discussion will consider the Transport Committee’s landmark Access Denied report on transport and disability, alongside the wider action needed from policymakers, transport authorities and industry to improve accessibility across the country.
The panel will explore how best practice can be translated into consistent delivery, including:
- How national and local government can work together to improve accessible transport.
- What can be learned from the findings of the Access Denied report.
- How policymakers and industry can address inconsistent accessibility across different areas and transport modes.
- The practical changes needed to end the postcode lottery in accessible transport.
The event will bring together parliamentarians, accessibility experts, transport stakeholders and people working across policy and delivery.
Further speaker announcements will follow shortly.
