Making Every Contact Count: Improving Women’s Long-Term Health 

Policy Connect, in partnership with Bayer, will host a panel discussion at Labour Party Conference in Novotel Liverpool Centre exploring the next phase of women’s health reform. 

We are delighted that Baroness Merron, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Women’s Health and Maternity, will join the discussion. 

The event will bring together parliamentarians, NHS leaders, clinicians, patient organisations and industry to consider how national commitments on women’s health can translate into measurable improvements in care. 

With the renewed Women’s Health Strategy for England and the Cardiovascular Disease Modern Service Framework, the discussion will focus on one central question: how can every contact a woman has with the NHS become an opportunity to improve her long-term health? 

The panel will explore four connected themes: 

• Making every contact count through prevention and earlier intervention  
• Earlier identification of conditions and risk factors that remain under-recognised in women  
• Delivering more joined-up care through women’s health hubs, primary care and neighbourhood services  
• The data, partnerships, information sharing and accountability needed to turn policy into practice
