This is an evidence session for Carbon Connect’s inquiry Future Gas Series – Part 3: Consumers and the Future of Heat.

This roundtable will explore:

  • Who will be in charge of managing or delivering a low carbon heat roll out? How will a transition be managed practically?
  • How best can the transition to low carbon heat be communicated to consumers? What past experience can we learn from? Who will be in charge of communicating and engaging consumers in a transition to low carbon heat?
  • Who would consumers trust to deliver a transition to low carbon heat, and what conditions are there on this trust?
  • What role should Local Authorities and Devolved Authorities have in a roll-out of low carbon heat? What extra resources and training would be needed? What best practise is there to learn from?
