Recent high profile challenges in the development of nuclear projects in the UK have brought into focus the need for strategic planning of the UK’s energy infrastructure. In particular, there is a need to ensure the electricity system is set up to deploy sufficient low carbon electricity generation to meet the UK’s future energy needs and climate change targets.

This session will bring experts together to examine what recent challenges with nuclear projects mean for the UK’s electricity system and how the system should be organised to best meet energy needs and carbon reduction targets.
