On 10th May, the Manufacturing Commission will hold a final evidence session to inform its forthcoming inquiry on the future skills needs of the manufacturing sector.  Previous evidence sessions have focussed on perspectives from businesses, perspectives from education providers, and current challenges facing the sector.  This session will draw together the themes from previous discussions and focus on some of the topics identified at the inquiry outset, which have not been covered to date. 

The session is kindly being Chaired by the Liberal Democrat spokesperson for business, energy, and industrial strategy, Sarah Olney MP.  Speakers will include:

Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea (inquiry Chair)

Jim Coleman, head of economics, WSP

Clare Porter, head of manufacturing, Department for Business and Trade

Verner Viisainen, policy analyst, Green Alliance

Scott, head of skills for renewables, RenewableUK
