With the expert chairwomanship of Baroness Margaret Ritchie, a Member of the All-Party Groups on Health and Sustainable Resources, Policy Connect looks forward to holding a Sustainable NHS Mandate roundtable in Parliament on 24 February.

Tasked to reform or die, developing a ‘circular’ NHS has become an existential imperative.

Sustainable practices hold the key to NHS survival. By promoting efficiency and better utilising waste, circular products and practices benefit quality of care, financial resources, continuity of supply and the environment.

The Government must show leadership to enable a wholesale cultural shift to circular care.

To open with presentations from the Health Foundation; the Sustainable Healthcare Coalition; the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare; and Loughborough University, leaders in developing a circular health economy, the discussion will set objectives for the Government’s impending healthcare reforms to set to develop a sustainable health economy.

We will be joined by sustainability leaders from NHS bodies, royal colleges, the medtech, pharmaceutical and packaging sectors, academia and more, as well as members of the All-Party Groups on Health and Sustainable Resources.
