Policy Connect and the Environmental Services Association (ESA) were delighted to welcome guests to the House of Lords on Wednesday 19 July to celebrate the publication of the ESA’s policy scorecard tracking recycling and waste decarbonisation progress.

The policy areas covered include waste prevention and reuse; wider recycling and waste strategy reforms; organic materials from landfill; landfill gas and carbon capture; Energy from Waste heat networks; and net-zero fuels and vehicle fleets.

We heard speeches from:

The ESA’s scorecard shows that, while government has made firm commitments across all of the above policy areas, delivery against many of these commitments is yet to be achieved.

Policy Connect, on behalf of our members and supporters, have serious concerns regarding the lack of clarity and action to progress delivery of these reforms, and will continue to work closely with our stakeholders to hold the Government to account/support the Government to progress these.

You can find a copy of the report and accompanying scorecard here.
