Since the launch of their latest report, Degree Apprenticeships: Up to Standard?, Policy Connect and the HE Commission have been engaging with a range of key policy makers to take the recommendations forward. After briefing the Post-18 Review panel, the Commission were pleased to be cited in their recent report and to see alignment in their recommendations. This also follows briefing the Rt Hon Anne Milton, Minister for Skills and Apprenticeships, on the recommendations of our report and how to improve policy implementation.

In addition to our recent dissmeination, the Office for Students (OfS) Policy Insight Paper draws on our report and has also made a series of commitments which endorsed three of our recommendations and follows the Minister’s response to written questions.

This impact work builds on additional recent policy wins in the DFE and DIT International Education Strategy paper which included several recommendations that were central to our report Staying Ahead: Are International Students Going Down Under?. This success followed meetings with Minister Skidmore and DFE officials.

The Commission are pleased to have made such progress and will be sustaining their efforts over the coming months.
