What would a Conservative election victory mean for awarding organisations?

Aaron Bowater from the Education and Skills team at Policy Connect will be speaking in a FAB Webinar tomorrow morning, 10.15am-11am.

Aaron will look through the recently published Conservative manifesto and provide a personal view of the implications for awarding organisations and the wider technical and professional skills sector should the polls be proved right and the election returns a new Conservative administration.

Of the webinar, Aaron said:

The last two years, and more, have been a period of exceptional change and reform for the FE and Skills sector. Marked by the passage of the Technical and Further Education Act in the last week of the 2015 Parliament, the incumbent Conservative Government has placed considerable political and legislative attention on the UK’s skills system.

Given that this focus has been replicated in the Conservative Party’s General Election manifesto, as well as the manifestos of the Labour and Liberal Democrat parties, it is vital that we understand and scrutinise what the next Government, of whichever stripe, has in store for the FE and Skills sector.

With the promise of IoTs in every city, the creation of new ‘T-Levels’ and a “a major review of funding across tertiary education as a whole” there is a lot to look at!
