Daniel Monaghan

Daniel joined Policy Connect in January 2021 as a Senior Researcher, responsible for the Higher Education Commission’s new inquiry into universities’ research and the levelling-up agenda, resulting in the report Empowering Innovation. Daniel left Policy Connect in March 2022.

Daniel previously worked in political consultancy and public affairs for WPI Strategy. During his three years at the firm, Daniel served as the organisation’s lead researcher, working across policy areas including space, children’s rights, telecommunications and prison reform. He has previously managed an All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), serving as the group’s Secretariat.  

Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in History & Politics from the University of Warwick and a master’s degree in Political Theory from the London School of Economics (LSE). He represents the Labour & Co-operative Party at a local level and contributes to the Young Fabians blog. Outside of work, he enjoys football, snowboarding, hiking and attending music events.
