Policy and Research Manager
Gaelan Komen

Gaelan joined Policy Connect in August 2023 as Policy & Research Manager in Policy Connect’s Health team. Gaelan leads our work on carbon monoxide through the APPCOG and supports health and sustainability projects.

Gaelan previously led the UK office of a European public affairs agency specialising in healthcare, where he directed programmes across the healthcare policy space, from disease awareness and patient advocacy to therapeutic market access; and led a cross-party political health group.

Gaelan also has experience in social care, having been a support worker between university terms. He holds a BA in Natural Sciences and MSci in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge, where he undertook research projects on the role and politics of scientific knowledge in international action on nuclear research, disarmament, and climate change.

Beyond Policy Connect, Gaelan supports a community climate change advocacy group, volunteers locally, and enjoys running, team sports, and travelling.
