Producing Low Carbon Gas‘ identifies the need for further government action to take advantage of the opportunities offered by low carbon gas.

The cross party inquiry was co-chaired by James Heappey, Conservative MP for Wells;  Alan Whitehead, Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change and MP for Southampton Test; and the Rt. Hon Alistair Carmichael, Liberal Democrat MP for Orkney and Shetland.

This is the second report in the Future Gas Series, examining the opportunities and challenges with using low carbon gases to help the UK decarbonise its economy. Part 1: Next Steps for the Gas Grid was published in September 2017. Part 3 will be launched in early 2019 and will examine consumer issues related to a transition to low carbon gas.

A summary of the report is available here.
