Policy Connect and UCISA are hosting a policy symposium on the procurement of technology and IT servicex in higher education. The discussion will be based on a policy brief that provides recommendations to improve the procurement process for providers, reducing costs and increasing efficiencies where possible.

This event will address the pressing challenges and opportunities in technology procurement within UK higher education institutions.

Cross-Party Engagement: We are committed to fostering a cross-party consensus on this critical issue. Representatives from the UK’s three main political parties will be invited to share their perspectives and contribute to a comprehensive dialogue.

The session will feature contributions from:

  • James Crooks, Chief Information Officer at Durham University
  • Mel Gomes, Head of IT Commercial Management and Contracts at Royal Holloway, University of London.
  • Dr. Rob Moore, Head of Service Governance at Leeds Beckett University.

This symposium will provide a platform for stakeholders across the higher education sector to discuss innovative procurement strategies that can enhance the delivery of technology services, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of students and staff alike. Join us as we explore pathways to a more efficient, transparent, and inclusive procurement process that supports digital transformation in higher education.
