Yesterday our Head of Education and Skills, Liz North, spoke at a Public Policy Exchange seminar on the Future of Employment, where she called for policymakers to engage individuals to share first-hand experience of the societal issues in implementing policy for good.

Liz spoke on the implementation of public policy and practice, referring to our work providing the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Skills, Careers and Employment and two of our research reports: Arriving at Thriving, a joint report with the Higher Education Commission, and Transition to Ambition, a joint report with the Skills Commission

Two recent events from the APGSCE were particularly relevant to this topic. In May, the APGSCE held a workshop on ‘Levelling up the nature of work: How AI and Automation can create high-value jobs and skills‘. Another recent event was an in conversation event with Sir John Hayes MP and Stephen Timms MP on ‘Transitions: How can government level up prosperity?’. More information on both these events can be found in the links above.

More information on the Public Policy Exchange event and other speakers can be found on their website.
