The APMG will be holding a fringe event on the Future of British Manufacturing at Conservative Party Conference in Manchester this year. The event will feature a panel Chaired by APMG Co-Chair Chris Green followed by a drinks reception and all manufacturing colleagues and stakeholders are encouraged to attend. 

The panel is:

  • Nahim Zahawi MP, Minister for Industry
  • Ian Funnell, CEO, ABB
  • Juergen Maier, CEO, Siemens UK
  • Dick Elsy, CEO, High Value Manufacturing Catapult

They will be discussing the future of manufacturing in the age of automation and will cover a range of topical issues such as: growing businesses, increasing UK competitiveness, the opportunity of global trade, localisation and onshoring – free ports, increasing investment, Made Smarter, Convervative’s manufacturing policy plan, addressing the skills gap and creating the leaders of the future.
