The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Assistive and Accessible Technology (APPGAT) is hosting a parliamentary event on Innovation for Accessibility and Inclusion, exploring how digital technology can create a truly inclusive society for disabled people.

The session will consider how the UK’s technology innovation ecosystem can better support accessibility and inclusion with disabled innovators, entrepreneurs, and co-researchers at the forefront.

Chaired by Sadik Al-Hassan MP, participants will discuss the opportunities for accessible technology innovation, the barriers faced by disabled innovators and ways policymakers can embed inclusion at the heart of digital and tech strategies.

The session will feature contributions from:

  • Rt Hon Sir Stephen Timms MP (Minister for Social Security and Disability)
  • Professor Gosia Kwiatkowska (RIX Inclusive Research)
  • Connor Ward (Neurodiversity Consultant and Trainer)
  • Rebecca Garrod-Waters (Ufi VocTech Trust)
