The Professional Standards Authority (PSA) and the All-Party Parliamentary Health Group (APHG) are hosting a parliamentary reception to explore how professional regulation can support the Government’s priorities for health and care.
Hosted by Dr Simon Opher MP, Chair of the APHG, the event will bring together parliamentarians, policymakers, regulators, professional bodies, patient representatives, and other stakeholders from across health and social care.
Against a backdrop of significant change across the health and care system, the reception will consider how professional regulation can support workforce transformation, the shift towards more community-based care, the growing use of technology and artificial intelligence (AI), and improvements in safety and quality. Discussions will also reflect on lessons emerging from recent inquiries and reviews, including those relating to maternity and patient safety.
The programme will feature contributions from leading speakers across the sector, alongside opportunities for discussion and networking with colleagues from government, regulation, professional bodies, patient organisations and Parliament.
Further details, including speaker information, will be shared closer to the event.
