Trust, Transparency and Tech: Data and Technology Ethics Inquiry Report Launch

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Data Analytics is delighted to announce the launch event of the landmark inquiry report into the future of technology and data ethics, which will take place in the Churchill Room of the House of Commons on Tuesday 21st May 2019

The report follows a seven month inquiry co-chaired by Labour MP Darren Jones and Conservative MP Lee Rowley. Established following the Government’s establishment of the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation in late-2017, the report sets out recommendations for government and policy makers to grasp the technological opportunities and meet the ethical challenges that big and open data present to the body politic. It looks at how public trust can be built and retained in four key policy areas: 

• Connected and autonomous vehicles
• Education
• Policing
• Healthcare

The reception will bring together a range of leading stakeholders from these sectors, as well as academia and industry. We also hope to be joined by Margot James MP in her capacity as Minister of State for Digital and Culture.
