Consumers, Public Engagement and Low Carbon Heat
10.00-12.00
The roundtable will focus on public attitudes towards the transition to low carbon heat. It will examine the ways in which the public’s views on the transition can be integrated into the decision-making and delivery in this area. It will also consider the most effective ways for the transition to be communicated to the public.
It will consider the following questions:
- How are the public’s views on the low carbon heat transition currently measured and understood? How could this be improved?
- What are the current (and potential future) mechanisms to integrate the public’s views on the low carbon heat transition into government decisions in this area?
- What are the most effective mechanisms to communicate the details of the transition to low carbon heat to the public? Who are the best actors to communicate with the general public about heat and climate change?
- How can public confidence be built in the transition to low carbon heat both in general, and in relation to specific policy levers and technologies?
