The UK’s ongoing transition to low carbon energy represents a dramatic change in the basis of the economy. This carries some potential threats, such as lost jobs in certain sectors, but also huge opportunities for long term regional growth and prosperity.

This session will examine how the transition to a low carbon economy can be best managed to maximise economic benefits across the whole of the UK. This will include detailed examination of IPPR’s soon-to-be-published final report (the interim report can be found here) on a ‘just transition’ in the North of England.

Chair: Anna Turley MP

Speakers:

Luke Murphy – IPPR
Representative – Orsted
Representative – Prospect
Kirsty Blackman MP
Rebecca Long-Bailey MP

This event is being held in partnership with IPPR.
