Tribute to Jack Dromey MP

Policy Connect were saddened to hear of the passing of Jack Dromey MP.

Jack was a dedicated chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Manufacturing Group and a passionate advocate for the sector. Having taken over as chair in 2018, he alongside Mark Pawsey MP have been key champions for manufacturing within Parliament, advocating for a fair, sustainable and economically successful sector. Jack cared deeply about his work and supported the APMG to deliver more than parliamentary events, as well as a number of reports.

He will be sorely missed.

Mark Pawsey, co-chair:

“It was an honour to serve as co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Manufacturing Group with Jack and to work and collaborate with such a knowledgeable and dedicated champion of the sector. We shared a common interest and commitment to ensure UK manufacturing thrives both in our Midlands constituencies and across the UK. He will be greatly missed and my thoughts are with Harriet and his family at this difficult time.”

Lord Bilimoria CBE DL, Manufacturing Commission Chair:

“I had the privilege as Chair of the Manufacturing Commission to have Jack Dromey as one of my Vice Chairs. He was a diligent and committed officer of the commission – always present, always contributing in a hugely constructive manner, always supportive and always kind and cautious. He was an invaluable asset, and we shall all miss him greatly. Thank you, Jack, for everything, always.”
