Chair of the Advisory Board and APPCOG Stakeholder Forum, Chris Bielby is a past President and Fellow of the Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers (IGEM). He has spent the past 25 years tirelessly lobbying and canvassing support for gas safety issues, particularly around carbon monoxide as chairman of the Gas Industry Safety Group, Gas Safety Trust and the Gas Task Group. 

Joining the industry in 1972, Chris started his career as a gas engineer before moving into other operational and senior managerial roles. He is now the Director of Industry Liaison for SGN, an IGEM Industrial Affiliate (IA) member.  Chris joined SGN in September 2011 to lead on new business, including high profile bio-methane opportunities. Since then, he has also assumed strategic leadership for stakeholder engagement and innovation, both of which have benefitted enormously from his expertise, enthusiasm and positivity.
