Clive Gilbert
As Head of Accessible Transport, Clive leads our work with the National Centre for Accessible Transport, in which Policy Connect is a partner. Clive manages the secretariat of the Accessible Transport Policy Commission and helps oversee the Centre's relationships with government and other national, regional and local policymakers. He is also a member of the Centre's governance board.
In addition to his work on accessible transport, Clive is a Senior Research and Policy Manager within the Assistive and Accessible Technology Team. He leads the ATech Team's social care and independent living, and industry and innovation policy workstreams.
Clive is a member of the Department of Health and Social Care's Digital Social Care Advisory Group. In 2022 Clive was listed on The Shaw Trust's Disability Power 100 - a list of the most influential disabled people in the UK.
In his spare time, Clive volunteers as the Patient and Public Voice representative for the NHS England Environmental Controls Service. Clive is a member of the governing council of the British Assistive Technology Association (BATA), where he set up and chairs the Augmentative and Alternative Communication Special Interest Group. He is also an avid reader, and a particular fan of author Michael Lewis.
Clive holds a BA in History from King's College London and an MSc in Public Policy from University College London.
