Josh Babarinde MP, OBE

Josh Babarinde MP is the Co-chair for the newly launched Skills Commission inquiry.

Born in Eastbourne in 1993, Josh has deep roots in the local community, having attended local schools before studying at the London School of Economics. He founded Cracked It, an award-winning social enterprise that trains and employs ex-offenders and at-risk youth in smartphone repair. His work has earned him numerous accolades, including an OBE in 2020 for services to criminal justice, social enterprise, and the economy. Josh has been named in Forbes 30 Under 30 and has received a Shackleton Award and a Winston Churchill Fellowship. Prior to his election as MP, he served as a local councillor and worked as a youth justice worker in East London. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Josh trained as a volunteer vaccinator with St John Ambulance. As an MP, he serves as the Liberal Democrats' parliamentary spokesperson for Justice, focusing on issues such as criminal justice reform, social enterprise, and economic development.
