Venugopal joined Policy Connect as a Research Fellow in January 2025 in the Education and Skills Policy Team. He has previously worked with grassroots projects on skills development and livelihood generation in multiple cities in Ahmedabad, India among other projects on affordable housing and sanitation for urban slums.

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Development Planning from the Bartlett Development Planning Unit at University College London. His research focuses on how informal institutional arrangements contribute to urban inequalities in developing cities.

Outside work, he likes to read history, travel and is a photography enthusiast.
