Digital solutions have the potential to tackle some of the health and social care sector’s greatest challenges. They can join up different services and provide a platform for personalised care at a time and place that works for everyone. They could transform access to and experience of health and social care.

This is why innovation in digital solutions for health and social care is a central pillar in government’s ambition for the service.

Embedding digital technologies could mean that people can access their healthcare at any time. They could let different services have easier access to patient data and speed up referral times and transitions between services. They could improve communication between health professionals, patients and carers, for instance easy contact with GPs, physiotherapists and pharmacists through a single app. Digital solutions could allow for remote monitoring of patients and a reduction in hospital bed days.

They provide the possibility to integrate all aspects of health and social care – a key tenet of the health and care bill.

The promise is clear. Now is the moment to consider how to get there and how to create a trusted, collaborative and user-led transformation.

This virtual roundtable will seek to answer these questions. Speakers will highlight best practice examples, challenges and potential solutions to create this transformation.

Speakers include:

Lord Bethell, former Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Health and Social Care and APHG Officer

Dr Shankar Sridharan, Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist and Chief Clinical Information Officer at Great Ormond Street Hospital

Ron Emerson, Zoom Head of Healthcare

There will be plenty of time allocated for questions and comments and we would be delighted if you could attend. A summary of this event will be produced and available to attendees and on request. To confirm attendance and receive the joining link, please contact becky.rice@policyconnect.org.uk
