The Accessible Transport Policy Commission is hosting its autumn parliamentary roundtable on the roles and responsibilities of accessible transport staff in local government.

The roundtable, also available to join online, will discuss the findings of the National Centre for Accessible Transport’s research exploring the practices of local government staff who are involved in helping to ensure that local transport systems are accessible and the challenges they face in their roles.

Participants will also be invited to review a series of draft recommendations that have been developed from ncat’s research.

Chaired by Richard Baker MP, Vice Chair of the Accessible Transport Policy Commission, the session will feature contributions from:

  • Clive Gilbert, Head of Accessible Transport at Policy Connect.
  • Robert Gravelle, Multimodal Access and Inclusion Manager at Transport for Wales (Invited).
  • Helen Ellerton, Head of Transport Policy at West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
  • Keith McKain, National Bus Strategy Programme Manager at Surrey County Council.
  • Debbie Preston, Access Advisor at Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.
