The APPG for Health is partnering with the APPG for Obesity to host the report launch of the House of Lords Select Committee’s inquiry on Food, Diet, and Obesity.

Chaired by Baroness Walmsley, this inquiry has explored the impact of certain food types—such as ultra-processed foods (UPFs) and foods high in fat, salt, and sugar on health outcomes, particularly their role in contributing to obesity and poor nutrition.

The launch will bring together a diverse group of experts, academics, policymakers, and individuals with lived experience of poor diet and its health consequences. These contributors to the inquiry will offer their unique perspectives, providing a comprehensive view of the challenges posed by unhealthy food trends.

It will also provide an opportunity for a panel discussion, where experts will discuss solutions for ensuring better health through improved dietary choices, regulatory interventions, and collaboration between industry and public health sectors.

Speakers will be announced in due course.
