What does an ethical digital world look like?
The APPG on Data Analytics and Parliamentary Internet, Communications and Technology Forum (PICTFOR) is delighted to invite you to an upcoming roundtable event with the Technology and Data Ethics Inquiry's co-chairs Darren Jones MP and Lee Rowley MP.
With fast-evolving ‘Industry 4.0’ technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing relying on data to reach their full potential, a debate has started around how data should be used ethically to benefit society. There are many stakeholders involved in this discussion, from parliament and government, to industry and the public. This is a global challenge, and the UK has the opportunity to seize the agenda and become a world leader in the ethical use of data as a means of innovation in technology and services.
At this event, stakeholders will discuss the recent Online Harms White Paper and the recommendations of the recently published Data and Technology Ethics Inquiry report into the future of technology and data ethics. It will provide a forum to speak about ethical issues in the increasingly digital world and potential solutions involving regulation.
This event will cover:
- How can the UK further lead the world's ethical use of data?
- What are the priority areas the UK should promote for ethical data use which can benefit society?
- How can the UK achieve its ambition to be the safest place for everyone to be online?
