Evidence from Geena Vabulas, Assistive Technology Policy Manager at Policy Connect, is picked up in a recommendation in the Work and Pensions Select Committee report, DWP’s Preparations for changes in the World of Work.

We said that “demand for IT skills in the workplace may lead to disabled people being left behind, citing evidence that disabled people are twice as likely as non-disabled people to lack internet access.”

The Select Committee picks up this evidence and says in their report that “DWP must ensure that its digital skills offer is accessible and inclusive for disabled people. It should set out how it intends to increase the proportion of disabled people who benefit from its support and commit to publishing data on this.”
