Green Bill of Health: Acting now for a sustainable recovery and a healthy future
Policy Connect is proud to launch its latest report, Green Bill of Health: Acting now for a sustainable recovery and a healthy future.
Green Bill of Health explores how we can act now for a sustainable recovery and a healthy future. The report sets out clear recommendations for a green and healthy recovery from the current economic and health crises; how the UK can lead on heath and climate change, particularly in the context of its COP 26 presidency; and how we can plan for a healthy future over the long-term.
The report is kindly sponsored by the Lancet Countdown and co-chaired by Lord Duncan of Springbank and the Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP, former Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and former Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, respectively.
As part of the nine-month research process, Lord Duncan and Hilary Benn MP also co-chaired the evidence session that formed the basis of the report. This session brought together the expertise of a range of health and climate professionals, including Baroness Brown, chair of the Climate Change Committee’s Adaptation Committee, Dr David Penchon from the University of Exeter as well as experts from the Nuffield Trust and Chatham House.
Following the evidence session, Ágnes Szuda, Sustainability Policy Manager at Policy Connect, conducted further research and provided additional analysis to account for new developments and emerging evidence in this fast-moving area of policy, such as the Government's ten point plan for a green industrial revolution published in November.
